AFL show opener

The show opener, bumpers, wrap around and other promo material were shot in an Arena and Theater in Stockton CA. With a limited amount of extras we used old Hollywood style tricks of under lighting and back lighting to make the arena seem full of screaming fans. There were literally dozens of versions shot to accommodate various team uniforms, and logos. ESPN was prepared with a full season of "match ups" for the various teams. Our responsibility was then to represent each of those match ups with graphic elements that were shot live along with ESPN branded graphics. Also note the over the top hits and tackles, all the stunt work was shot on site using wires.

Video Game Awards Open

I recreated the gang summit scene from the "Warriors" movie. This time featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Cyrus along with cgi game characters and actors in costume. The piece was used by Spike tv for the opening of the video game awards. It was directed by Brian Robbins of Tollin Robbins. (Varsity Blues, Shaggy Dog, Coach Carter and more). The set filled a 8,ooo square foot stage at Hollywood center. Half the space was practical set pieces, walls, trees, lamp posts, fences. The other half was green screen for compositing shots.

L.A.F.U.

This pilot created for Spike TV by Motiv films was shot in Los Angeles. We built several sets on a stage and used existing locations as well as re dressed pre standing sets to create this comedy about two forensics detectives.

Dashboard Confessional

Stolen, a video directed by Jay Martin. Dashboard Confessional performed in a garden space in Los Angeles. My task was to create four distinct seasons in that space. An end of summer party features cast members of The O.C.

Good Charlotte

This video for The River by Good Charlotte was directed by Marc Webb. We built 5 green screens in truss frames and hung them behind a custom built platform. The band members each performed on the platform. Various images of Los Angeles were then placed on the screens and visual effects morphed the band members into each other.

The Least Among You

These images are from a feature film I designed back in December of last year. The film stars Lou Gossett Jr., Lauren Holly and William Devane. It was directed by Mark Young. Set in 1965 Los Angeles after the Watts riots this independent film was filled with challenges from both a scheduling and design stand point.

Senses Fail Video

In this video for Canadian Rockers Senses Fail the band is abducted by rabid fans who imprison them in a giant steel and glass cube. The 15' square cube was 8' tall and built off site and assembled the morning of the shoot along with another set.
